Marketing interaction

And, as you might expect, you have been appointed responsible for the campaign and now you have to take charge of creating  merchandising ideas.

What is merchandising?

It is a persuasion technique that plans ways of selling and promoting a product at a specific point of sale. Using settings, your product is displayed in a different and attractive way at the place where the final phase of the sales cycle occurs. Which encouraged the choice of the product. Criteria such as environment, location, design and interactivity become fundamental.

As it works on innovative ways of presenting the product and seeks to obtain competitive advantaged by optimizing everything related to the display of your product at the point of sale.

And  merchandising  could be defined as marketing carried out in the market.

Stimuli

Stimulus is a central theme in this technique. To do this we have to create facts that stimulate them to start a dialogue with us. There is a whole science behind this idea that works with conscious and unconscious stimuli, whether from the senses or challenged to our intelligence.

Customer experience is the common denominator and what ultimately tips the balance. Feelings, human touch, interactivity and art excite us, marking a different and fun moment in our routine. It is because of these perceptions that the market is transforming and focusing more on the human experience.

Exampled of  merchandising

1. Tasting merchandising

I’ll start here because it is perhaps the best-known type of action. A person hired by the brand greets customers at the point of sale where they are shopping and offers them free sampled of their product to try. A linear, simple strategy that works very well.

And the anecdote I chose is that of the Pepsi portugal mobile database Challenge in the 80s, within the framework of the so-called “Cola War”I lived it, I did the challenge and I am part of the 57% who said it was Coca Cola when in reality it was Pepsi.

2.  Spiderman  drinks a coffee

This is an example that I love, as I am a fan earn money with affiliate marketing on youtube of the character. An initiative by  Marvel  together with  Starbucks Company to promote the latest Spiderman   movie  and of course sell the best coffee. A perfect symbiosis, a world premiere and a global store.

It started in 1971 with its first store and in 2010 it already had 16,858 stored around the world. Its coffee is so good that even Peter Parker himself stops by there every day to have a coffee before going out to fight crime. Oh no; I accidentally revealed  Spiderman ‘s secret identity ! Don’t tell anyone. You can see the  merchandising in this video .

3. Coca Cola 0 is possible

I chose the third example because it is a  merchandising product  for visibility at the point of sale.

Something that caught the attention of customers, because it seems to be impossible but it is not.

Well, I think you now have enough material to research belgium numbers and find ideas to create your  merchandising actions.  Remember everything we talked about, prioritize the customer experience, work on the context where you will carry out the action and think about the stimuli you will use to start the dialogue.
