Set the control channel to 5 GHz

If your ASUS router or ZenWiFi system has a 5GHz-2 section available , configure it in a similar way.

Step 6. Set the channel bandwidth and control channel for the 6 GHz band
If you are one of the few users with a Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 router from ASUS, you will also see the 6 GHz wireless band listed in the Wireless – General settings. Check the WiFiman app again and see if it reports any data for 6 GHz channels. As you can see, there are no networks competing with mine in my surroundings. In this situation, I can use any wireless channel I want and it will work just fine.

Check the 6GHz channels used in your area

Back on the ASUS router, make sure you select either 320MHz or 160MHz (the higher of the two available for your particular model). This setting increases the maximum throughput you can get on the 6GHz band. Then select vnpay database the control channel you want to use.

But does all this work? Does it bring about meaningful improvements?

I’m sure many readers who are willing to follow my recommendations also want to know if they are actually improving performance using lead magnets and not wasting their time. So, I decided to take some quick measurements on the ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 that I’m using for this article. The 2.4 GHz band was initially set to use a 20 MHz channel bandwidth , a channel that was crowded and also used by other networks in my area. I changed the channel bandwidth to 40 MHz, and Windows 11 immediately reported that the aggregate connection speed on my network had increased from 344 Mbps to 688 Mbps.

I also ran SpeedTest before and after the central african leads optimization. Initially, the average download speed on the 2.4 GHz band was 154.87 Mbps. After making my changes, the speed reached 220.35 Mbps, an increase of 29%.
